Iran has launched what it described as dozens of attack drones toward Israel, marking the first extensive drone offensive in the escalating conflict between the two countries. Iranian military officials said the drones are aimed at specific Israeli interests and would take several hours to reach their targets, signaling a coordinated and deliberate operation.
Regional air defense systems were activated in response, as similar past attacks were largely intercepted before entering Israeli airspace. In northern Iraq, Kurdish security officials reported that United States-led coalition forces shot down several missiles and explosive drones over Erbil.
With multiple fronts now engaged and Gulf states on heightened alert, the large-scale drone campaign points to a dangerous expansion of tensions across the Middle East, raising fears of a broader regional confrontation.
