OneFamily reports a sharp rise in the number of bereaved and wounded families seeking assistance following the latest escalation of violence in Israel. Dozens of new families, including those who have lost loved ones or are coping with physical and emotional trauma, have joined the organization since the recent fighting began.
The group says the renewed sirens and military operations reopen deep wounds for many. Parents Reut and Eyal Butzchak, who lost their son Captain Oshri Moshe Butzchak in December 2023, described the organization’s support as critical and deeply meaningful during days marked by fear and longing.
According to chief executive Moshe Swill, beyond the battlefield another struggle continues at home, where widows, widowers, orphaned children, and the wounded face long-term emotional and practical challenges. OneFamily provides therapy, resilience workshops, financial guidance, enrichment programs for children, and ongoing care, while expanding its nationwide network of therapists and volunteers.
Alongside emergency assistance, the organization continues community initiatives, including distributing holiday care packages to thousands of affected families. It is urging the public to contribute to a national solidarity campaign aimed at strengthening long-term support for those impacted by violence.
