Residents from Hyderabad living in Iran are facing growing anxiety as tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel intensify. Many are based in Tehran, while others live in cities such as Qom and Shiraz. Some families have temporarily relocated from the capital to comparatively safer areas, while others remain in Tehran, closely monitoring developments.
A Hyderabad native working in Tehran said he moved with his wife to Qom due to the increasingly tense atmosphere. He described frequent sounds of attacks and rising public anger following the reported killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Communication has become difficult in some areas due to internet disruptions.
Another resident from Hyderabad, who has lived in Tehran for over a decade, said daily life changed suddenly after nearby explosions. With no bunker facilities available, families are staying indoors as schools and offices remain closed, and only essential services operate. Despite the uncertainty, most Hyderabadis in Iran are not rushing back to India, hoping that the situation will stabilize soon.
