The flights, subject to necessary approvals and prevailing airspace conditions, aim to bring back stranded passengers. Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu reviewed the situation in a high-level meeting, as authorities closely monitor developments and assess their impact on international flight operations. Airlines are deploying additional capacity where required and coordinating with foreign aviation authorities and Indian missions to ensure safe and orderly movement of passengers. Travellers have been advised to check flight status directly with airlines and rely on official updates.
Meanwhile, Air India has extended the temporary suspension of its flights to and from the Middle East until the end of March 3 due to continued airspace restrictions. The government has expressed concern for the safety of the large Indian community in Gulf nations and directed departments to assist affected nationals. Several state governments have also activated helplines and emergency control rooms, while authorities emphasised that relief measures will continue to be scaled up depending on airspace availability and the evolving situation.
