Maj. Noy Shosh, a 36-year-old officer in the Technology and Maintenance Corps, was killed on the 22nd of Tishrei, the morning of Simchat Torah, while defending his home in Kibbutz Be'eri during one of the darkest days in the country's history. He fell in battle protecting his family and community.
Shosh was known for his technical excellence, humility in command and exceptional personal courage. He is survived by his wife, Machol, their three children, his parents and two brothers.
Seven months after his death, a fourth child was born to the family. The baby girl was named Yahav, after the radio call sign Noy and Machol used during their military service at Kerem Shalom.
