Iran has warned that it will target Israel's Dimona nuclear facility if Israel and the United States pursue efforts to force regime change in Tehran. The threat was reported by a semi official Iranian news agency, citing a military official, amid escalating rhetoric from both sides.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and United States President Donald Trump have said their military campaign aims to create conditions for the Iranian people to replace their government. Senior Israeli officials indicated that Washington intends to continue operations until that objective is achieved, rejecting suggestions that the campaign would end after only limited action.
According to Israeli and United States officials, Iran's leadership has been weakened by strikes on senior military figures, mid level commanders, and command centers. In addition to targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij militia, attacks have reportedly struck police stations in Tehran, a move analysts say is designed to undermine the government's ability to suppress potential protests and maintain internal control.
