The Israel Defense Forces carried out 26 waves of airstrikes in Beirut's Dahieh district since the start of the operation, including a large-scale strike on Thursday night targeting Hezbollah infrastructure. The Israeli Air Force, acting on military intelligence, struck an executive council command center and a facility used to store unmanned aerial vehicles intended for attacks against Israel.
According to the military, the targeted command centers were meant to support and coordinate planned attacks against Israeli troops and the state. The strikes were part of an ongoing campaign against Hezbollah following attacks launched against Israel.
Before carrying out the operation, the military said it implemented measures to reduce civilian harm, including issuing advance warnings, using precision-guided munitions, and conducting aerial surveillance. Israel stated it will continue acting against Hezbollah to prevent further attacks on its residents.
