An Israeli Air Force fighter jet intercepted and shot down an Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle just before it crossed into Israeli territory, according to newly released footage. The aircraft was identified and destroyed to prevent potential harm to civilians.
In the video, a commander is heard authorizing the strike, saying 'Free to fire at the target' moments before the interception. The military said the action was part of ongoing defensive operations.
Since the start of Operation 'Roaring Lion,' the Israeli military has intercepted more than 110 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran toward Israel. Officials said the effort is aimed at protecting civilians while weakening Iran’s military infrastructure.
