The Israel Defense Forces announced that the Israeli Air Force eliminated Abu al-Qassem Baba'iyan in Tehran, acting on precise intelligence. Baba'iyan served as Head of the Military Office of Iran's Supreme Leader and as Chief of Staff of the emergency command headquarters known as Khatam al-Anbiya. He was responsible for coordinating operations among Iran's military organizations targeting the State of Israel.

According to the statement, Baba'iyan had recently been appointed to senior leadership roles following the deaths of other top officials in previous Israeli operations. He replaced Mohammad Shirazi as military chief of staff to the Supreme Leader and later assumed the role of Chief of Staff of the emergency headquarters after the elimination of Ali Shadmani.

Israeli officials said his death is part of a broader campaign targeting senior figures in Iran's leadership structure since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion. They described the strike as another step in weakening Iran's command structure and its ability to conduct military activities against Israel.
