A local religious movement in the Solomon Islands claims that the Ark of the Covenant is hidden on Malaita Island. The theory, revived by a locally produced film titled 'The Lost Temple Discovery,' points to mysterious stone ruins in the island’s interior that some residents believe are the remains of a temple modeled on King Solomon’s Temple.

According to oral traditions in northern Malaita, ancient travelers from Israel journeyed thousands of miles across the Pacific by canoe about two thousand years ago, carrying the Ark with them. Among the To'abaita people, some believe they descend from the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel, a belief reflected in certain religious practices and symbols.

The All Peoples Prayer Assembly, founded in the 1980s, is one of the strongest supporters of the claim. Its members teach that their ancestors brought elements of Israelite faith to the island and that they are guardians of the sacred relic. While the story has drawn local interest, most historians and archaeologists remain skeptical, citing a lack of physical evidence linking Malaita to an ancient Israelite presence.
