The Israel National Cyber Directorate has released an unprecedented video aimed at countering psychological warfare efforts by Iranian hackers, who have intensified their digital campaigns since the war began. According to the agency, more than 1,300 reports have been filed involving fake phone calls and text messages designed to frighten citizens or trick them into revealing personal information, with 77 percent identified as phishing attempts.
The video satirically portrays senior Iranian military and cyber officials preparing to deploy a so-called 'doomsday weapon' against an Israeli civilian. In the clip, the targeted individual ignores and mocks their outreach attempts, reflecting public awareness efforts led by the cyber authority.
By humorously depicting Iranian officials frustrated over failed phone and messaging scams, the campaign seeks to encourage vigilance among Israelis. The agency aims to show that public awareness and refusal to engage with suspicious messages can effectively blunt foreign digital intimidation efforts.
