New footage released Monday evening shows a direct strike on a satellite station in the Elah Valley, hours after the Israel Defense Forces acknowledged a malfunction that prevented warning alerts from being activated. The incident occurred during a barrage in which several rockets were launched, most of which were intercepted by air defense systems.
According to the investigation, interception attempts against two specific threats failed, resulting in impacts in the area. Warning systems did not activate for civilians at the affected locations, despite the engagement efforts.
The military stated that the type of threat was not new and had been successfully countered in the past. Following the review, the Home Front Command and the air force implemented technological and operational adjustments to improve detection, interception capabilities, and civilian warning procedures to prevent similar incidents.
