Drone attacks targeted multiple security checkpoints across Tehran on Wednesday night, leaving at least 10 people dead, according to Iranian state media. Those killed reportedly included security personnel and members of the Basij militia.
The Revolutionary Guards-affiliated Fars news agency described the incidents as 'terrorist' attacks. Witness accounts indicated that air defense systems were activated as drones flew over parts of the city, with residents reporting explosions and exchanges of gunfire in several districts.
The checkpoints struck were located in Districts 1, 14, 15 and 16, including areas near Mahallati Highway, Hashemabad gas station, Fadaiyan-e Islam Street and Artesh Boulevard. An unnamed official alleged that the operation was carried out jointly by Israel's Mossad intelligence agency and monarchist groups, though no evidence was provided to support the claim.
