Bloomfield Township Police placed Bloomfield Hills schools in secure mode as a precaution, stating there are no known threats to the schools at this time. Authorities have urged community members to avoid the area to allow emergency responders to operate safely.
Additional law enforcement agencies, including the Ann Arbor Police Department, have increased patrols at local houses of worship and schools as a precautionary measure. State police said troopers are also boosting patrols at other places of worship throughout the district while the situation remains active.
