Fri: Insurance and defense stocks lead rise

The main indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed higher on Friday, led by gains in insurance, technology, and defense shares, despite weakness in major banks. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.76 percent to 4,177.58 points, while the Tel Aviv 125 Index added 0.55 percent to 4,118.09 points. The BlueTech Global Index climbed 0.79 percent, as the TelBond 60 corporate bond index edged down 0.04 percent. Equity turnover reached 2.78 billion shekels, with 5.75 billion shekels traded in bonds.

On the foreign exchange market, the representative shekel dollar rate increased 1.06 percent to 3.14470 shekels per dollar, and the representative shekel euro rate rose 0.11 percent to 3.5995 shekels per euro.

Insurance, defense, and technology stocks led sector gains, with their respective indices rising between 1.22 percent and 1.43 percent. Among notable movers, Next Vision, G City, and Nayax posted strong advances, while Equital, Argo Properties, and Isramco recorded the sharpest declines. Bank Leumi led trading volume but slipped 0.15 percent, and Bank Hapoalim also ended slightly lower.
