A traveller stranded in Dubai amid Middle East tensions has shared how she eventually managed to return home after repeated flight cancellations. Her original March 4 flight was cancelled due to airspace closures around Bahrain, leading to several days of uncertainty before she finally departed on March 10 on a different airline.
Alternative routes, including flying from Muscat, proved too expensive and impractical for her group, with high ticket prices and a long road journey required. Instead, the family chose to search for other options directly from Dubai. Despite the disruptions, the airport experience was orderly, with controlled entry, professional staff and smooth security procedures.
Even after boarding, the flight faced further delays due to security alerts, causing the aircraft to wait on the runway before eventually taking off. The traveller said monitoring flight patterns helped her identify which aircraft were still operating reliably. She also found that visiting airline ticket offices in person revealed available seats and lower fares not shown online. She advised others facing similar disruptions to stay flexible, monitor flights closely and explore in-person booking options.
