The Israel Defense Forces carried out an airstrike in the Gaza Strip targeting a vehicle carrying a cell of armed militants who were preparing an attack against Israeli troops operating in the area. The strike was conducted after forces identified what they described as an immediate threat.
According to the military, those killed included Rami Ibrahim Harb and Mutaeb Ziyad Darah, identified as members of the Nukhba unit who had infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre. Also killed were Abd Muhammad Amtsi, affiliated with the Popular Resistance Committees, and Tawfiq Khaldi, identified as a Hamas operative.
Three additional Hamas operatives who were said to be working with the cell were also killed in the strike. The military stated that the operation was intended to remove an immediate danger to its troops.
