Twenty years after the disengagement from northern Samaria, trailers have been placed in Sa-Nur as part of preparations to resettle the evacuated community. The Samaria Regional Council and the Amana Movement brought dozens of temporary homes to the site for nucleus and formerly evicted families, marking a significant step toward reestablishing the community.
Infrastructure work is expected to follow, including the completion of a bypass road around the nearby village of Silat ad-Dhahr, which is considered essential for the gradual return of residents. Three months ago, a master plan approving 126 housing units received authorization, providing a legal foundation for rebuilding after years of public advocacy.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich described the move as a meaningful step in renewing settlement in northern Samaria, while Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, who was previously evacuated from Sa-Nur, called it part of a broader coordinated effort with government and security officials to enable families to return home.
