Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, said that terror incidents in the West Bank over the past year were among the lowest recorded, crediting sustained offensive and professional military activity. During a visit to Central Command, he met with brigade and divisional commanders to review operational challenges and recent developments in the area.
Despite the relative decline in attacks, Zamir warned that violence carried out by a small group of nationalist settlers was harming Israel's security during an ongoing multi-front war. He described these acts as morally wrong and strategically damaging, stressing that they undermine military efforts and endanger both security stability and the broader settlement movement.
Zamir urged state authorities to confront and halt such violence, emphasizing that the military should not be forced to address internal unrest while engaged in a wider regional conflict. He also called for restraint in public discourse and expressed strong appreciation for the work of Central Command forces, highlighting the need for rapid response capabilities to prevent terror attacks.
He added that Israel is engaged in a historic and unprecedented regional campaign against Iran and its proxies, with military operations underway in multiple arenas while defensive efforts continue along all borders.
