Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel 'acted alone' in its recent strike on an Iranian gas field, rejecting claims that the United States had been directly involved. He stated that President Donald Trump had requested no further attacks on energy infrastructure and denied that Israel had misled or pressured Washington into the conflict.
The strike on energy facilities marked a significant escalation in the ongoing war between Israel, the United States, and Iran. Iran responded by restricting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route along its coast through which roughly one fifth of the world’s daily oil supply passes.
Tensions intensified further after Iran targeted Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial area, home to the world’s largest liquefied natural gas processing plant. Qatar warned that the attack could affect about 17 percent of its export capacity and have serious consequences for global energy supplies. Iran’s foreign minister warned that Tehran would show 'zero restraint' if its infrastructure were attacked again.
