In conclusions issued after a summit in Brussels, the leaders urged de-escalation, maximum restraint, and full respect for international law, emphasizing the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure.

The bloc also discussed strengthening its existing naval missions in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa by deploying additional assets in line with their mandates. The move comes amid rising tensions over maritime security and the safety of key shipping routes.

Leaders welcomed increased efforts by member states to coordinate with regional partners to safeguard freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, once conditions allow. The waterway is a vital conduit for global oil supplies, and its security has become a focal point of international concern.
