Concerns over the availability of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders have grown amid tensions in the Middle East, prompting reassurances from the government that domestic supply remains stable. The Press Information Bureau stated that household consumers are being prioritised and the distribution network is operating normally. Citizens have been advised to book cylinders only when necessary and to avoid hoarding.
Authorities have received complaints about some dealers delaying deliveries or demanding extra payments, which violate government rules. Consumers facing such issues can report them through official helpline numbers or lodge complaints on the respective company websites. The government has urged the public to report overcharging or delivery delays to ensure compliance and prevent unfair practices.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed that household needs will take precedence over commercial users if supply pressures arise. The booking cycle between cylinder refills has been extended from 21 days to 25 days to help manage the supply chain efficiently. Domestic production has been increased by 40 percent, while imports, mainly sourced from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, continue to support supply.
