United States President Donald Trump said Washington had no knowledge of Israel's strike on Iran's South Pars gas field, distancing his administration from the attack. The strike caused fires at one of the world's largest natural gas sites, a crucial part of Iran's energy infrastructure.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump warned against further escalation, stating that no additional strikes should target the South Pars field unless Iran retaliates again, particularly against Qatar's liquefied natural gas facilities. He cautioned that the United States would respond with massive retaliation if energy assets in the Gulf region were attacked.
The Israeli strike has drawn sharp warnings from Iran's military leadership, heightening concerns of a broader regional conflict focused on vital energy infrastructure.
