Dozens of extremist settlers beat Palestinians; burn homes, cars in revenge attacks

Extremist Israeli settlers carried out coordinated revenge attacks across roughly 20 locations in the West Bank on Saturday night, torching Palestinian homes, vehicles and other property, according to security sources. Footage from several villages showed buildings ablaze as residents rushed to evacuate those inside. At least eleven Palestinians were reported lightly wounded, with additional injuries caused by beatings and stone-throwing.

The violence followed the death of 18-year-old settler Yehuda Sherman, who was killed earlier that day when a Palestinian-owned pickup truck struck the all-terrain vehicle he and his brother were riding near their outpost. Authorities said the suspect turned himself in and that the circumstances of the collision were under investigation, though some politicians immediately labeled the incident terrorism. Graffiti reading 'Revenge, Yehuda' was reported at several attack sites.

Israeli security forces said troops were deployed to restore order and condemned violence, but there were no immediate reports of arrests. Opposition lawmakers denounced the settler attacks as terrorism and warned of escalating unrest, while international diplomats condemned what they described as growing settler violence against Palestinian communities. Investigations into the incidents were ongoing.
