Yehoshua Sherman, father of Yehuda Shmuel who was killed in a car ramming attack near Homesh, shared that his family chose to donate their son's corneas in the midst of their grief. Speaking at the funeral, he described how hospital staff approached them with the request, and they agreed to donate everything possible in order to bring light from their tragedy.
Sherman said the family found comfort in knowing that Yehuda's eyes would help others see, expressing hope that his son's light would continue to shine through those who receive the donation. He added that the act of giving offers them solace and a sense of healing.
The family also voiced hope that the donation would aid the sick and injured and bring broader healing to the people of Israel during a painful time.
