Israel's National Security Council has urged Israelis living or traveling abroad during Passover and other upcoming holidays to take increased precautions due to heightened threats from Iran and its proxy groups amid the ongoing war. Officials warned that gatherings of Israelis and Jews overseas could present attractive targets for attacks.
The council advised the public to avoid sharing real-time travel details on social media, stay away from unsecured events linked to Israel or Judaism, remain vigilant in public spaces, and report any suspicious activity to local security forces. It also recommended that holiday events not be held in open areas and cautioned against traveling to locations known for hostility toward Israelis and Jews.
Travel guidance was also updated in light of security risks and disruptions to air travel. Israelis were encouraged to use Ben Gurion Airport when possible and to minimize time spent in neighboring countries if traveling through them. Additional warnings were issued regarding travel to countries near Iran and attendance at events identified with Israeli or Jewish communities.
The warning follows recent antisemitic incidents in Europe and alleged Iranian-linked surveillance of Israeli and Jewish sites in London. Israeli security agencies said they are reinforcing protections for civilians and diplomatic missions worldwide in response to the increased threat environment.
