Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has been sued for alleged assault and battery stemming from an incident on New Year's Eve. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, also includes claims of gender violence and negligence.
The plaintiff, Madison Atiabi, alleges that Nacua made an antisemitic remark while they were together in Century City, causing her emotional distress. She further claims that he bit her on the shoulder while they were in a van later that evening, leaving visible teeth marks, and that he also bit her friend's thumb.
Nacua's attorney has denied the allegations that he made antisemitic statements and described the biting as 'horseplay.' The attorney characterized the lawsuit as an attempt to seek money and said the alleged bite left only a temporary mark. The case follows a previous incident in which Nacua publicly apologized for performing a gesture on a livestream that was widely criticized as perpetuating antisemitic stereotypes.
