Israel's military chief has warned the cabinet that the armed forces could face collapse due to mounting operational pressures and severe troop shortages. Military officials report a shortfall of thousands of troops, intensifying the strain on ongoing missions. The chief also raised concerns about escalating Jewish nationalist violence in the West Bank, where additional battalions have already been deployed and more may be required.

Recent cabinet approval to legalize dozens of outposts in the West Bank is expected to further increase security demands. According to the warning, these added responsibilities could deepen the manpower crisis and undermine the military's overall readiness.
