Explosions were reported across Tehran and Karaj after the Israel Defense Forces announced it had completed a new wave of airstrikes targeting regime sites in the Iranian capital and central Iran. More than 60 fighter jets carried out the operation, dropping over 150 munitions on key weapons production facilities, according to the Israeli military.
Among the targets were missile and air defense production facilities in Parchin, sites used for casting and filling warheads with explosive materials, and factories involved in the development of solid fuel ballistic missiles. Additional strikes hit a Quds Force production site and military defense systems in Isfahan.
The latest attacks bring the total number of Iranian targets struck since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion on February 28 to 15,000. The pace of daily strikes has declined significantly from about 1,000 per day at the start of the campaign to fewer than 100 per day.
Separately, international media reported that a residential neighborhood in Tehran was hit earlier in the week in what were described as joint United States and Israeli airstrikes. Footage shared by the Iranian Red Crescent showed damaged buildings and rescue teams searching through rubble, though neither country has claimed responsibility for that incident.
