An Israeli man named Brehiya, a father of five, has died in Ethiopia after being unable to return home due to the ongoing war. He had traveled to the country to visit his ill sister but became stranded when flights were disrupted.

According to his family, two of his children are serving as combat soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces. Brehiya was among a group of Israelis stuck in Ethiopia, including many elderly individuals in their eighties and nineties who had traveled there for herbal medical treatment. Efforts to arrange rescue flights were delayed, leaving them unable to return home in time.
