Iranian missiles and drones struck the United States military base Prince Sultan in Saudi Arabia on Friday, damaging several refueling aircraft, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal citing American and Saudi officials. Open-source imagery and online data reportedly confirmed the attack.
Reuters reported that several United States servicemembers were wounded, though this has not been independently verified. In a previous attack on the same base, five refueling aircraft were damaged. The Pentagon did not comment on the latest strike.
Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry said a ballistic missile targeting the capital, Riyadh, was intercepted and destroyed mid-flight. The situation remains developing.
