Several United States service members were seriously injured and multiple aircraft were damaged after an Iranian missile and drone strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. According to the Associated Press, several troops were hurt, while the Wall Street Journal reported that 10 were wounded, including two described as very seriously injured and eight listed as seriously injured under military classifications. Officials said the casualties occurred inside an installation building that was struck during the attack.
The strike also reportedly damaged several refueling aircraft, with satellite images circulating online appearing to show the extent of the destruction. This marks at least the second attack on the base during the ongoing conflict with Iran. United States Central Command recently confirmed that more than 300 service members have been wounded and at least 13 killed since the fighting began.
President Donald Trump said the war is nearing an end but acknowledged that it is not yet fully over. He also criticized members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization for what he described as a lack of support and urged Saudi Arabia and Israel to normalize relations after the conflict concludes.
