Two soldiers were seriously wounded and seven others moderately injured during clashes with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, as fighting intensified along the border. The Israel Defense Forces said the injuries occurred in separate incidents involving anti tank missile and rocket fire. Four soldiers have been killed since hostilities resumed after Hezbollah began launching attacks in response to Israel’s killing of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
Hezbollah continued firing rockets and drones at northern Israel, triggering air raid sirens across several areas, including near Haifa Bay. Air defenses intercepted at least two drones, and no injuries were reported in those incidents. The renewed attacks have killed two Israeli civilians and wounded dozens, while another civilian was mistakenly killed by Israeli artillery fire.
In response, Israeli forces carried out extensive air and naval strikes across Lebanon, targeting weapon depots, rocket launchers, and buildings used by Hezbollah. A strike in Beirut killed two senior members of Hezbollah’s communications unit, who were also linked to its rocket operations. Lebanese authorities reported widespread strikes in multiple towns, with more than 1,100 people killed since the escalation began, a figure that does not distinguish between fighters and civilians.
