Israel says it is close to crippling Iran's military industry
The Israel Defense Forces said they expect to complete strikes on nearly all of Iran's critical military production sites within days, marking a month since the war began. Military officials estimate that about 90 percent of key facilities involved in producing weapons that threaten Israel have now been targeted, significantly degrading Iran's ability to manufacture ballistic missiles, air defenses, naval systems, and other advanced weaponry.
Heavy airstrikes continued over Tehran, including attacks on the headquarters of Iran's Marine Industries Organization, which oversees the development and production of naval vessels and weapons. Additional strikes targeted infrastructure linked to weapons development and air defense systems. Israeli officials say the sustained campaign has killed thousands of Iranian soldiers and severely damaged the country's military capabilities.
United States Vice President JD Vance indicated that Washington has achieved most of its military objectives in the joint offensive and suggested the conflict would wind down soon. He said the goal is to 'neuter' Iran's ability to threaten the United States and its allies for a long time, while acknowledging that the gains may not be permanent. He also described rising gas prices as a temporary consequence of what he called a short-term conflict.
As bombardments intensified, reports emerged that an Iranian nuclear scientist and several commanders, including a senior naval figure in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed in recent strikes. Residents of Tehran described powerful explosions and sleepless nights, expressing frustration with both the war and their government. Since the conflict began, Iranian missile attacks have killed civilians in Israel, while Israeli forces have carried out hundreds of strike waves across Iran.
