The Israel Security Agency has thwarted a military network operated by Mahmoud Radwan, a Hamas operative who was released in 2025 and deported to Turkey. Radwan had previously been involved in the 2001 murder of Yossi Alfasi.
According to the investigation, Radwan recruited two residents of Azzun while they were abroad, meeting them at a restaurant in Turkey in December 2025. During the meeting, he described his ongoing militant activity in Turkey and in Judea and Samaria, expressed his desire to die as a martyr, and invited them to join his efforts. The two agreed and later advanced hostile activities in Samaria.
Investigators also found that Radwan claimed the activities of deported operatives were known to Turkish security authorities. Indictments have been filed against the two suspects. The Israel Security Agency said it will continue working to thwart terrorist efforts both abroad and domestically and bring those involved to justice.
