The Israeli military announced that approximately 900 Hezbollah militants have been killed during ongoing fighting in Lebanon, reflecting the scale of its ground and air campaign in the south of the country. The operations are aimed at dismantling threats to communities in northern Israel.
For several weeks, forces including the 7th Brigade and the Golani Brigade have worked to destroy militant infrastructure in southern Lebanon. In the past 24 hours, dozens of militants were killed while attempting to stage ambushes, and an armed operative preparing to fire a rocket-propelled grenade was neutralized before he could attack.
Troops have also detained a Hezbollah operative accused of conducting surveillance and transferred him to Israel for questioning. Soldiers continue to uncover and destroy weapons stockpiles, military gear, command centers, underground tunnels, and launchers used to fire into Israeli territory. Artillery units have fired more than 700 shells in recent days as part of the campaign, which the military says will continue in order to prevent harm to Israeli civilians.
