'Will cut off legs': Iran warns aggressors; Russia's Chechen units ready if US launches ground war

Iran has warned that it will 'cut off the legs' of any force that attempts to invade its territory, with a spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stating that the country is prepared to respond decisively to aggression. State media also reported that Russian Chechen units stand ready to deploy if the United States launches a ground invasion. Meanwhile, the President of the United States has suggested he may wind down military operations within four to six weeks, while Israel's prime minister said the campaign has moved beyond the halfway point.

The warning comes amid escalating strikes and counterstrikes across the region. Iranian media reported damage to infrastructure on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz and explosions in Tehran, alongside reported United States and Israeli strikes on Iranian military sites. Shipping traffic has continued through the strategic waterway under coordination, even as tensions remain high.

Violence has also spread to neighbouring countries. Missile debris and drone interceptions caused injuries in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, while clashes in southern Lebanon left Israeli soldiers dead. In Iraq, explosions and airstrikes targeted armed group bases near key military facilities. Iran's parliament has approved new measures to control transit through the Strait of Hormuz, including tolls and bans on American and Israeli vessels, and warned regional states against supporting any invasion effort.
