The Pakistan Cricket Board is in talks with the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation to build a new cricket stadium in Jeddah, a proposal that has already received approval from the board’s governing body. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is leading the discussions, and an expression of interest has been submitted, although a final agreement has not yet been signed.
The proposed stadium would feature modern facilities, including floodlights and seating capacity suitable for top-level matches. It could potentially host games from the Pakistan Super League in the future. Discussions are still at an early stage, with both sides currently focused on identifying a suitable location.
Saudi Arabia’s growing interest in expanding its presence in global cricket is seen as a key driver behind the initiative. The Pakistan Cricket Board is also encouraged by the large South Asian expatriate population in Saudi Arabia, including many Pakistanis, who could support cricket events. At present, the United Arab Emirates remains the main hub for major cricket tournaments in the Middle East.
