A new Harvard Youth Poll finds that 46 percent of Americans aged 18 to 29 view the United States relationship with Israel as mostly a burden, while 16 percent see it as mostly beneficial. The survey highlights a significant generational divide over foreign policy priorities.
Respondents were also skeptical about the United States relationship with Ukraine, with 31 percent calling it a burden and 21 percent describing it as beneficial. In contrast, large majorities said ties with Canada, Mexico, and the European Union benefit the United States.
The poll also shows strong opposition to war with Iran, with 55 percent saying such a conflict would not be in the country’s best interest. Many expressed concern that a war could expand, raise the cost of living, or lead to a direct attack on the homeland, even as slim majorities identified Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea as threats. The survey included 2,018 respondents and was conducted from late March to early April.
