United States President Donald Trump said he has been briefed on a proposed deal from Iran and will soon review its exact wording. He indicated skepticism about the plan, stating that Iran has not yet paid a big enough price for its actions over the past 47 years and suggesting the proposal may not be acceptable.

Trump added that he wants to eliminate the remaining portion of Iran’s missile production capabilities, after previously claiming that most of it had been destroyed. He also said the option of renewed military strikes remains if Iran misbehaves, though he did not commit to immediate action. In addition, he announced plans to withdraw more than 5,000 American troops from Germany.

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian military official said that renewed conflict between Iran and the United States is likely, following Trump’s criticism of Tehran’s proposal. Israeli defense forces are reportedly preparing for the possibility that the United States could resume strikes on Iran.
