A London court has jailed Tavius Jean-Charles, 36, for five years after he admitted to a series of antisemitic hate crimes targeting Jewish people in north London. He repeatedly shouted threats including 'I will kill you Jews' near synagogues in an area with a large Jewish community between October 2025 and March 2026.
Jean-Charles was arrested after being reported for making death threats on March 16. Shortly after being released from custody, he was heard saying on the phone that 'it would be good if we blew up one of their schools', leading to further charges.
He pleaded guilty to seven racially aggravated public order offenses and one count of racially aggravated criminal damage. The sentencing comes amid a rise in antisemitic attacks in London, including stabbings and arson incidents, with prosecutors pledging faster action against offenders.
