Israel Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff Eyal Zamir conducted a situational assessment in northern Israel and approved operational plans for the continuation of combat in the Northern Command. During a visit to the 401st Brigade headquarters, he met with commanders and troops and expressed support for the brigade, including its injured commander.
Zamir stated that the military is prepared to immediately resume intense combat operations against Iran and to further weaken what he described as the Iranian terror regime and its capabilities. He emphasized maintaining readiness and operational flexibility while continuing strikes against Hezbollah across multiple dimensions.
According to Zamir, Israeli forces have left Hezbollah significantly weakened in areas where they have operated. He reaffirmed the mission to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, eliminate threats, and ensure the security of northern communities, adding that damage to Hezbollah has been systematic and ongoing.
