Younger museum curators are redefining what exhibitions can be and broadening the audiences and collections of institutions. They are focusing on previously ignored populations and cultures, and using new modes of storytelling. Young professionals are increasingly joining the curators' association, with the average age of new members now 34.9 compared to 41.7 in 2015. This rise may be driven by growing interest in art from the African, Asian, and Latin diasporas. Young curators are disrupting traditional museum systems and bringing in new perspectives and voices.
