Dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators clashed with police and counterprotesters outside a synagogue in Brooklyn where an Israeli security minister was expected to speak. The synagogue was across the street from another synagogue where the minister was scheduled to speak. The visit by the minister has brought pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel groups face-to-face in heated exchanges and troubling episodes in Brooklyn neighborhoods with large Orthodox Jewish populations.
