A rare and intricately decorated Saxon cross-shaped pendant was discovered in a field near Leeds, northern England, believed to have belonged to a high-status individual, possibly a church official. The pendant, made of solid silver covered with gold leaf, dates back to the eighth century CE and offers insight into the religious life and elite culture of Northumbria over 1,200 years ago.
