A man who was injured after falling from a broken chair at a conference in Expo Tel Aviv has been awarded nearly 533,000 shekels (about $138,000) in compensation by the Jerusalem District Court. The incident occurred in 2017 during the National Architecture Conference, where the man suffered injuries to his hand, head, and back after the chair collapsed. The court found that Expo Tel Aviv, which provided the chairs, failed to prove it had taken reasonable care to ensure safety, and thus was liable for the accident. The judges also determined that the initial compensation was insufficient given the extent of the man's injuries, increasing the award and legal fees accordingly.
