Syrian President Ahmad Al Sharaa has emphasized that the country's unification should be achieved through understanding rather than military force, following years of civil war. Speaking during a dialogue session with provincial notables, Sharaa rejected any notion of partition and accused Israel of interfering in southern Syria, particularly in the Druze-majority Sweida province. His comments come amid ongoing protests in Sweida, where demonstrators have called for self-determination and denounced recent sectarian violence.

Sharaa acknowledged violations committed by various groups during the recent unrest and stressed the need for accountability, regardless of affiliation. He also addressed ongoing negotiations with the Kurdish administration in the north and northeast, noting that the implementation of a recent integration deal remains stalled due to unresolved differences.
