The searches were carried out by the Golan Regional Brigade across multiple sites, with additional suspects detained and questioned by military intelligence personnel. Since the fall of the Syrian regime in December 2024, Israeli forces have maintained a presence at several posts within a buffer zone near the border, operating up to fifteen kilometers inside Syrian territory.
