Detention extended for man who confessed to murdering 5-year-old son in 1974, two years before murdering his wife

Police have extended the detention of Asher Goldstein, who confessed to murdering his five-year-old son in 1974. Goldstein, now 88, admitted to drowning his son with cerebral palsy off the coast of Eilat, claiming it was an act of mercy. Two years after the child's death, Goldstein murdered his wife and attempted to disguise the crime as a car accident. He was convicted for his wife's murder and served 11 years in prison. Authorities say Goldstein will remain in custody until August 27 as investigations continue.
