Three diplomats from Qatar lost their lives in a car accident while en route to the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh. Two other members of the diplomatic team were injured when their vehicle overturned approximately 50 kilometers from the city. The group was traveling ahead of a major summit celebrating a ceasefire agreement in the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The summit, to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, will be co-chaired by the presidents of Egypt and the United States, and is expected to draw over two dozen world leaders.
